Overview

This workshop and hackathon focus on the operation of quantum computers.

The workshop will present our cloud system initiatives through invited talks by leading experts from Japan and abroad. We will also share knowledge with operators of other quantum computing modalities, with the aim of extending our system software and operational technologies across platforms.

In the afternoon, a hackathon using the quantum circuit simulator available through QCoder will give participants practical, hands-on experience in quantum programming, contributing to the wider adoption of quantum computing and to the advancement of the field.

The event is held as a satellite workshop of QI2026.

Objectives

What we aim to achieve with this workshop and hackathon.

  • Disseminate the results of our quantum cloud system operations to the wider research and developer community.
  • Share knowledge and operational practice with operators of other quantum computing modalities.
  • Provide a practical, hands-on experience through a hackathon on a quantum circuit simulator.
  • Promote the adoption of quantum computers and advance the cross-platform deployment of our operational technologies.

Hackathon

A two-hour hands-on session on a quantum circuit simulator.

The hackathon gives participants direct, practical experience of quantum programming on the quantum circuit simulator available through QCoder. Participants write and run quantum programs on the simulator, supported by the operating team throughout the session.

The hackathon will be run on QCoder. Participants program with Qiskit and submit their work through QCoder.

Results are presented in the session immediately following the coffee break, giving every participant the chance to share what they built and to discuss their approach with the speakers and other attendees.

The hackathon is an individual competition. Participants are seated three to six to a table, and one facilitator is assigned to each table to support the group. Please make the most of the session by helping one another while you compete.

Further details will be published here as they are finalized. Registering through the form below ensures you receive all updates.
